My name is Patrick and my sober date is 6/4/2016. I'm from Denver, but moved to Wichita is 2022. I started working for Holland Pathways in Oct of 2022 as the kitchen manager. I had a long career in restaurant and operations management, and it seemed like the perfect fit.
Since I got sober in 2016, I knew I wanted to work in treatment helping others. I worked in the kitchen for a year and then was given the opportunity to transfer to the admissions team. I loved my daily interaction with clients, and I liked the idea of being able to help people get into treatment. I remember what it was like going in and out of treatment and wanted to be a part of making that a comfortable experience for future clients; I knew I wanted to do it with the amazing team at Holland Pathways.
In December of 2023 I lost my wife to addiction. While it was devastating, it gave me a fresh perspective on how I approached potential clients. I've been able to use that experience to understand the parents and loved ones of those who need help better and not just the addict themselves. I love what I do and I appreciate having the ability to make an impact in the recovery community.
